10.The Damned
by Matthias Mader (04.07.2007) With four records in the back released on the Eulogy Recordings label, Evergreen Terrace can be regarded as one of the settled Metalcore-bands. With "Wolfbiker", they now changed to Metal Blade hoping for a new jump in their career. Their musical outfit is good because the ten tracks from "Bad energy troll" to "The damned" aren't easy to pigeonhole. The changing vocals of Chaney (clean vocals) and Carey (screams) stamp the interesting song material. Stylistically, Evergreen Terrace range between the heavy Metalcore bangers, like "Wolfbiker", and catchy smashers in the likes of "Starter to the first". The special trademark of the band is their weird sense of humour (which is worth mentioning in this butch genre), reflecting already in song-titles, like "Chaney can't quite riff like Helmet's Page Hamilton". With their new album, Evergreen Terrace prove for the first time that they have the certain something..
