by Matthias Mineur (July 2004) Being a fan of the American power metallers, Metal Church, you have to prove good patience. Only every few years, the band around guitarist/producer Kurdt Vanderhoof and drummer Kirk Arrington releases a new album and raises the hopes for a more consistent way of working. Five years have passed this time until 'The Weight Of The World' represents the successor to the excellent 'Masterpeace'. And the ambitious church musicians not only present their great new compositions and their artistic abilities but they also introduce their new singer. Ronny Munroe is his name and like we could hear in advance he can be settled somewhere between Ronnie James Dio and Rob Halford. No bad prerequisites for making 'The Weight Of The World' great listening experience. At the same time, Vanderhoof and Arrington show that the common thread could be secured with changing line up, too. (Matthias Mineur - July 2004)
