by Markus Eck (13.04.2010) The second album by this Viking Doom outfit established in 1990 is brimming with dramatic arrangements and epic beauty. The Swedes succeed in conjuring up a genuinely Nordic atmosphere with their guitar magic, always intense, but never too extreme. On "The end", band founders Ragnar and Mats create a maelstrom of hypnotic melodies supported by dual vocal parts Γ la good old epic Bathory. Sometimes you even think you hear some vikings moan and mourn for their dead tribesmen. Ereb Altor manage to have the listener's attention from the start to the end of the CD, not only, but definitely also due to their versatile and multi-faceted vocals. The dark and depressing overall atmosphere of this tragic-laden album weighs about 1000 pounds.
