    The More We Bleed

by Andreas Reissnauer (05.04.2007) When the Swedish Death Metal scene exploded in the early '90s, four, five bands were marching ahead and a variety of other bands followed: one of the undiscovered pearls of that time forgotten by many is Evocation, who after two great demos soon inhabited an absolute cult status. These demos have been re-released on cd some years ago initialising the return of the band. Now, 16 years after the official foundation of the band, the Swedes finally release their debut album. You hardly believe it but it seems as if time stood still. "Tales from the tomb" contains exactly that kind of Stockholm food that many fans of the old school are still looking for. Low-tuned guitars, a grave-like voice and catchy riffs and leads that immediately get hold of you. The sound is so much like "Left hand path" from Entombed that the fans of that album have to immediately order this one blindly. Consequent as they are, the guys also cover "But life goes on" in a great way. Thumbs up for Evocation!
