by Oliver Kube (02.10.2008) What a juggernaut! Metalcore disciples All That Remains deliver a remarkably impressive, yet extremly catchy fourth album with real clout - Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chaimaira, God Forbid, Sanctity, etc.) produced the hefty output. The irresistible intertwining of Phil Labonteโs (ex-Shadows Fall) clean vocals and the double lead axes of Oli Herbert resp. Mike Martin (think of Maiden in their early days here) provides otherwise ultra-chunky songs like "Two weeks", "Undone" or "Chiron" with a very attractive, melodious dynamics. This is also good for the slower and more epic moments ร la "Forever in your hands" or "A song for the hopeless". But the highlights of these 39 minutes which just fly by are the groovy "Days without" and the grand semi-ballad "Believe in nothing": these two make for some nice ear candy - and charts material! "Overcome" is an amazing release: tough as nails, firmly rooted in the bandโs darkโnโgloomy background, yet absolutely commercial - in a positive way.
