I wanna be somebody (W.A.S.P. cover)

by Markus Wosgien (18.07.2006) "Location: Cold“ is the seventh studio album of Catamenia and again, a great salve of melodic and, yet, heavy and aggressive black metal rains down on the listener. Songs, like the majestic title track or the gloomy "Gallery of fear“ literally pull you close magically and put you in fear and fright. Due to problems with his vocal chords, singer Olli could only record four songs and was supported by Mors Subita frontman, Antti Haapsamo resulting in a great, thrilling combination. Consequently, clean vocals are often dominating lifting the sound of the Scandinavians onto a new level. Like the predecessors, "Winternight tragedies“ and "Chaosborn“, the album was produced in the Mastervox Studios. Most brilliant and most curious highlight is the exceptional cover version of the W.A.S.P. classic, "I wanna be somebody“, representing the topping on the ice for a fantastic black metal opus that is definitely the highlight in the discography of Catamenia.
