"Hoffnungsschimmer" is an enjoyable, entertaining middle ages Rock album with modern Rock-aspects. An album which fits between the releases of Subway To Sally, Saltatio Mortis and Fiddler`s Green past.

Nachtgeschrei are seven musicians from Frankfurt, who used to play in bands, like Black Sheep and Paimon. And as the band name suggests, their musical genre is Medieval Rock. Their debut album, "Hoffnungsschimmer" contains twelve songs that perfectly serve the genre range. Mystical pipe sounds and lively recorders change with modern guitar lines. The songs are very catchy in a way which also results from the clear, and yet, emotionless vocals. They kept away from Medieval wordplays, terms and topics of that time. They rather go the Mainstream way resulting in the advantage that Nachtgeschrei is easier accessible for the wider public because you donβt necessarily need a special liking for this genre. Consequently, Nachtgeschrei is something like the gateway band fort his genre and stands in line with bands, like Subway To Sally, Saltatio Mortis and Fiddler`s Green.
