by Olaf Plotke (11.01.2006) This 84-minutes long pleasure for your eyes and ears should be part of every music lover's collection: in August 2005, Corvus Corax performed their interpretation of the β€œCarmina Buranaβ€œ on the Isle of Museums in Berlin featuring 180 musicians on stage! The result can now be seen on this dvd. β€œCantus Buranusβ€œ is a single intoxication of music, light, dance and show. It is breathtaking how good Medieval music can be combined with the sound of a classic orchestra and an opera choir - just hear it yourself. But the uniqueness of this dvd lies not only in the exceptional music. The sounds of Corvus Corax are interpreted by the stilts theater Feuervogel and the show team Escalibur (incl. 4 Frisian stallions!) with a bizarre dance performance. Also the camera shots through the audience are fascinating. There are young and old together, metal heads and classic fans, peacefully united and devotedly listening. Such wonders can only be achieved by music.
