by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (30.10.2009) A mix of Metal and Hardcore doesn't necessarily lead to a stale kitschy result. Evergreen Terrace aren't influenced by the Metalcore we know today - they have grown up with the originals. And that's exactly why they sound like a Hardcore band consisting of outstanding musicians who love a mighty production - and not like a bunch of replaceable youngsters using any given 'core element from the construction kit. The melodies make sense, the clean vocals are far from that whiny yowling you oftem hear these days - still, this is a vigorous, energetic release. The album title may insinuate that either the Americans have gone back to their roots or they feel that much at home with Metal Blade they almost consider the label part of the family (both theories may be right). For starters, try these three tracks: melodic ΓΌber- song "Sending signals" with its awesome backing vocals, the title track with that looong fantastic solo, and "Failure to operate".
