by Jürgen Tschamler (21.04.2008) The first single, "The mirror`s truth" could leave enough impression to be expecting a lot from the new album, "A sense of purpose". And after the album killer, "Come clarity", the expectations had further increased. How would In Flames deal with this pressure? Relatively relaxed, I would think because "A sense of purpose" is so well done that you only think is there any better from In Flames!? The songs have an enormous groove-riff-density and despite their heaviness shine with a powerful melody. Old-School, New-School β who cares, In Flame stake something of everything. All these components that we have come to know from the different In Flames albums over the years have now been compiled to a tight brew. In case of "A sense of purpose" I wouldnβt wanna use the term "hit" but how do you call songs that despite all weirdness and uniqueness and heaviness become earwigs? There you go: hits! The complete material is settled on the same high quality level and it would be useless to highlight any single on of the songs.
