What to say about this album that hasn't been written a hundred times before? It's an absolute classic of the genre. Satyricon really put themselves on the map with this one. Fantastic to have it readily available on vinyl again after years of it being tough to come by and out of print.

Fantastic album from start to finish. Utterly dripping in atmosphere and a real testament to how powerful black metal can be when done correctly.
A word of warning if you've not heard Secrets of the Moon before; for all they're black metal they won't satisfy your craving for early 90's styled Darkthrone grimness. The sound they offer is much more refined and with a crisper production but no less excellent.

It's only mid-April but I already feel confident that I can call this my album of the year. Ihsahn has done it again.
Anyone familiar with his previous albums should be in no doubt as to the songwriting and lyrical prowess of this ex-Emperor mastermind, so it should come as no surprise that he's reached new heights on his latest opus.
In many ways it's more straight-forward the majority of his prior solo work, and definitely more riff and melody focused than his last album Das Seelenbrechen, but that's not to say t's simple at all and there are songwriting twists and turns throughout that most bands only wish they could come up with.
Fantastic production, excellent vocals and some great guest appearances. Do yourself a favour and buy this!

Fantastic album in every way and features some of the best riffs Soilwork have ever created. Peter Wichers returning to the band as primary songwriter really gave them a creative kick and this album features by far the best production job Soilwork have ever had. It's huge, crushing and grooving.

The Living Infinite really is a triumph for Soilwork on every level.
Their previous album (The Panic Broadcast) was probably my album of the year and great from start to finish and I was worried how they'd follow it up after losing primary songwriter Peter Wichers (again!) and this being a double album gave me even more cause for concern.
Luckily, none of these issues became a problem. From start to finish this album is fantastic and chock full of fantastic riffs and vocals, so much so it's hard to pick a favourite.
Buy it!

As a huge Soilwork fan I found this album a bit of a tough listen at first. It didn't strike me the same way as their previous few releases have done. All the elements were there; great vocals and sing-a-long choruses, melodic riffs and fantastic drumming but something just didn't click for me.
Luckily after a few spins this feeling went away and I can safely say this is yet more classic modern Soilwork. If you like the sound they've had in recent years this surely won't disappoint. Highly recommend picking it up on vinyl for the bonus tracks!

Solid production and catchy riffs. Great for a bit of energetic background music but Ketzer aren't going to set the world on fire with this release.

It's hard to approach this double album without a fair amount of nostalgia. Deliverance was the first album I purchased by the Swedes and, although at the time I was a big death metal fan, it was the cleaner and acoustic passages that really impressed me and drew me in to the music. When Damnation came out the following year, and was totally in this quiet and acoustic style, it was a bit of a dream come true for me.
14 years after first hearing these albums I still love them and they take me back to the fond memories I have of hearing them for the first time.
As to this specific vinyl packaging of them; I'm very impressed. The remixes are done very tastefully and preserve the fantastic production values of both albums and the records themselves are extremely heavy and sturdy - something I always look for in a vinyl pressing. The one reason I'm removing a star is the sleeve they're packaged in. Fitting LP's in one sleeve is very tight to say the least and it's disappointing to not have a more luxurious package and set of liner notes etc. like the CD version. Other than this minor gripe I highly recommend purchasing!
