They are among the most important representatives of the German Gothic/Dark Wave scene - the reactions to each of their releases are often ambivalent. "Zeit der Wölfe" is a melancholic, surprisingly sad and thoughtful album. The Metal parts used by Illuminate since "Augenblicke" dominate once again and keep the successor of "Zwei Seelen" on the right track. It is a dark fairy tale with the respective plot - a perfect fit for the dark poets. With the touching track "Leben, wo gehst du hin?", Johannes Berthold & Co. have composed a total stunner which will fill all Gothic dancefloors once again. The eight always exciting songs (plus intro and outro) demonstrate the class of Illuminate. "Zeit der Wölfe" is a fantastic opus full of dark beauty and romance - close your eyes and enjoy...
