    The Road Of Destiny

by Andreas Reissnauer (18.07.2008) They started 1999 under the name of Sanitarium, later, they called themselves Dunces, and at the beginning of this year the band finally decided to sail under the flag of Silentrain. No big deal - the boys haven’t been known much outside Finnland so far, and "Wrong way to salvation" is their debut anyway. The long preparation time pays off, though: Silentrain convince at their instruments and regarding composition, too. The Finns can’t hide their background - their classical Heavy Metal with keyboards points clearly into the direction of Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica and Thunderstone. Although Silentrain are anything but cheap imitators, they’re much rougher and opt for a throbbing, hefty bass sound which leaves its mark throughout the whole album. The rhythm structure is strong and tight - axemen Karu und Mako can thrive on that, and the straight and simple keyboard provides the adequate atmosphere just at the right moments.
