11.We rule the night
by Adam Weishaupt (12.07.2010) With this album, Sonic Syndicate will really rock the nights (pardon the quote) - and tear down the last bricks that separate them from their final breakthrough. Their new singer Nathan J. Biggs is an absolute asset, adding even more zest and intensity to their versatile performance. "We rule the night" is a refreshing, rocking (sic!) output which will be glued in your player for a long time... And it doesn’t hurt that it’s packed with hits, too: just check stuff like great up tempo "Burn this city", pumping "Turn it up", and the half-acoustical gem "My own life" which will be the crucial song for the Scandinavians’ even bigger success to come. So far, the band was always thought of sailing in the wake of In Flames, but those days are over, and the bunch has found an own direction: Rock’s hall of fame, that is. It’s those wonderfully catchy choruses, the straight, great, piercing riffs, and last but not least Nathan’s fantastic vocals which transform Sonic Syndicate from great band into mega act.
