by Markus Wosgien (08.04.2008) With the last yearโs album, "Victory songs", the Finns not only had the breakthrough but also recorded an absolute milestone of their genre. The departure of their former frontman, Jari Mรคenpรครค, who went his own way with Wintersun, was easily made up and the growing Pagan & Viking Metal community got an absolute world class opus. Just in time for the upcoming Paganfest-Tour with Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Eluveitie and Tyr, the Tour Edition of that album is being released in a great digipack incl. Bonus CD. This 6-track-CD contains four songs of the "Dragonheads" EP, including the three great hits, "White storm", the melancholic "Warriourโs quest" and the anthemnic title track, "Dragonheads". With "Into hiding", Ensiferum furthermore covered one of the best Amorphis tracks off the Centennial album, "Tales from the thousand lakes", as well as the Metallica classic, "Battery". Unusual and overwhelming, however, is the original version of the Uriah Heep evergreen, "Lady in black", causing some a shiver down the spine and in Ensiferumโs version becomes the perfect battle hymn.
