by Oliver Kube (14.04.2008) Since the breakthrough with their debut album, "Supersonic speed" (2001), Die Happy are one of the most successful, German (Alternative-) Rock bands in Europe. Fortunately, the band doesnβt take this circumstance for a reason to rest on their laurels. More than ever, front lady Marta JandovΓ‘ and her band have concentrated on the melodies without neglecting or destructing the typical Die Happy sound. That refers to the summer-rocking, and at the same time very pleasing, melancholic opener, "Around the world", as well as to the heaviest and fastest song on the album, the aggressive "Peaches": All songs are perfect ear-candies and, yet, never too simple. Highlights are the more complex songs, like "Sweet sensation" and the calmer "Youβll never know". In these songs you can hear how much the band originally from Ulm and meanwhile scattered over the two German media capitals, Hamburg and Berlin has artistically matured.
