10.Iskander D'hul Karnon
by Adam Weishaupt (30.10.2009) For the sixth time, Nile open the Egyptian grave-chambers and allow us a glimpse on that mythology. Tested and proven Neil Kernon (Slayer, Cannibal Corpse u.v.m.) produced the opus, providing it with a powerful, distinct sound which is the perfect base for all its intricate details. "Those whom the gods detest" attacks you with the force of a hurricane, leaving you helpless and fascinated. Technically well-versed like Death in their heyday, and simply awesome composition-wise. The title track with its threatening aura lets you really feel the curse of the ancient pharaos, and sluggish "4th arra of dagon", laden with horror effects, will also send a shiver down your spine. The spirit, the atmosphere of "Those whom the gods detest" is very close to that of "Black seeds of vengeance", Nile's classic epos. Congratulations - this is a fantastic and extraordinary piece of work. Hats off to Karl Sanders and his crew.
