One of the highlights of the 2019 metal calendar is, undoubtedly, “The Verdict”, the new studio album by legends Queensrÿche, which was recorded and produced with Zeuss (Iced Earth, Sanctuary, Hatebreed). It delves even further into the musical depths than predecessor “Condition Hüman”. “It’s the heaviest and most progressive album we’ve made in years,” explains guitarist Michael ‘Whip’ Wilton and this description is spot on. On “The Verdict”, Queensrÿche revel in an awesome and surprisingly gloomy mixture of fabulous, catchy vocal melodies, thrilling guitar work and, without adding loads of surplus playing time, they manage to create highly diverse, multilayered pieces. “I’m really happy with this album, “ says singer Todd La Torre, “and I’m excited for everybody to hear it.”
