14.Blood red sandman (Video)
by Fury Gagarin (April 2004) Already the opener, "Blood Red Sandman" - if it really remains it, because I had only a rough advance copy - presents a great handle into the shelf 'monster meets rock'. This song is definitely become a hit! Rocking guitars, vocals with balls and a chorus made for singing along to. This song can easily stand beside Alice Cooper, Kiss, yes also beside Twisted Sister or W.A.S.P., too and still is a 100% Lordi. "Destroyer" is stamped by Rammstein-like keyboards and surprises with the combination with almost thrash-like guitars. The tension of these two songs may not be kept up by the softer "My Heaven Is Your Hell", but this song is far from being weak. "Kalmageddon" is not only stamped by some "different" vocals but also this little, fierce keyboard melody. Another great song! The whole album is a progression that shouldn't keep off any fan of "Get Heavy" and will surely lead some new "monsters" into the band's universe. The production is more powerful, the arrangements - especially the keyboards - are more matured and still the genre may not be reinvented but it is reawakened with a lot of new blood breathed into it.
