Article description

Lacrimas Profundere rejuvenated on "Songs for the last view". Vocalist and teen heartthrob Rob Vitacca is terrifically well integrated on "The grandiose nowhere". Together with End Of Green, the Bavarians represent the top of the German Gothic Rock/metal genre.

by Markus Wosgien (13.04.2010) The product info says: "9 Β½ Weeks meets Sleepy Hollow" to describe the latest release by Lacrimas Profundere, the second one with Roberto Vitacca as front man - who has gotten used to the role in the meantime, demonstrating that with his deep and powerful voice which adds an interesting touch to the 12 new tracks. Musically, the Germans have stayed true to their basic concept, although leaning more and more towards glamorous Rock sounds (like their Finnish colleagues The 69 Eyes). The atmosphere on "The grandiose nowhere" is accordingly fresh and lively, once again aptly supported by star producer John Fryer (HIM, Depeche Mode. And many more). This international touch benefits Lacrimas Profundere and enhances their fortes. The rougher tracks like "The letter", pumping "Lips" or "A plea" (very HIM-esque!) are really convincing - there are but a few calmer moments on this album, for example melancholic "I don’t care".
