by Matthias Mineur (null) The career of the American Prog-Metallers Kamelot has long been accompanied by problems. Low budgets, legal problems with the label, cancelled tours: all signs stood against a further existence of the band. But the formation from Tampa, Florida has shown enough energy to survive. Produced by Sascha Paeth (Heaven's Gate), the band also offers a state of the art production, with "The fourth legacy". Paeth, who had been responsible for the Italian epic Metallers Rhapsody creating a perfect sound, emphazised the melodic aspect of the songs without neglecting the rhythmic ingredients. Highlights are the hymnic title-track, the oriental "Nights Of Arabia" and "Alexandria", the sensitive ballad "A Sailorman's Hymn" and the driving "The Shadow Of Uther" - only the outro sounds extremely copied of a track of the German Mob Rules. But anyway: the rest of the 48:11 minutes show offer great quality and uniqueness of the band. The fourth legacy will stand the test of time.
