by Peter Kupfer (20.09.2010) "The dissent of man" is Bad Religion’s first studio album since 2007’s "New maps of hell", and includes the new song “Resist-stance”, which originally appeared on the live album "30 years live". It also marks the first time since their formation in 1979 that a Bad Religion line-up had not changed in four consecutive studio recordings. They found their inner peace? Maybe! But the new record demonstrates in a best way their continued interest in melodies. Midtempo Punk at its best and no welcome for criticism because of songs like “The devil in stitches“ and “Meeting of the minds“. Melodic punk rock songs with catchy riffs and strong vocals, mostly in several parts in traditional Bad Religion style are their strengths and passion which, even in times of Metalcore and the rediscovery of Rock 'n' Roll don't seem moth-eaten. For sure they grew up and became older, but nevertheless they are gorgeous and they seem young as years ago. The motto is: they don't stop playing because they are old, they grow old because they stop playing. We look forward to the next 30 years!
