Listening to the lyrics on "The darker shades of white", it gets obvious quite fast that the five US-boys belong to the ever-increasing throng of Christian Hardcore bands. Well, I prefer that to those satanic blokes anytime! And really, "Fight for your king", "Western downfall" and "It’s always darkest before the dawn" don't sound at all like Stryper, Michael Kiske or those other sopsters. Musically, Corpus Christi are 100% Metalcore with some Progressive splashes - Victory Records, their label, have become quite famous for that style within the last years. With Corpus Christi, the self-appointed #1 US Independent Rock label definitely has a promising newcomer on its roster - this band is hot on the heels of Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying and All That Remains!
