by Markus Eck (12.08.2009) We have here an exceptionally aggressive sextet which knows only one way to proceed: full throttle. Discovered and produced by Slipknot's M. Shawn Crahan, these young hopefuls are allowed just about anything on their debut album "The american nightmare". And the American prodigies from Lincoln, Nebraska, deliver a juicy, wonderful thing far from any clichΓ©, even including cleverly arranged Hardcore or Jazz elements. Apart from that, the wild bunch even doesn't shun the occasional Blues, Punk, or Southern Rock part - it's mix'n'match as you like it on this creative modern Death Metal output. You just cannot put them into this or that box: the whole release is brimming with new, surprising, and unexpected stuff. It takes a lot of courage to combine all these influences in such an effective, delectable manner. Respect!
