by Markus Eck (27.01.2010) What’s the result of Kam Lee, (ex-Death / Massacre) and Rogga Johansson (a.o., Paganizer, Deranged) joining musical forces? Right – pure old school Death Metal. And The Grotesquery do roam on the brutal road paved and spearheaded by genre combatants Bolt Thrower. The songs of "Tales of the coffin born" are based on simple riffs and the Lee’s lyrical horror visions. Spoken, saturnine intros should even intensify that effect. Very professionally done (as you could expect of the seasoned artists), the experience and routine of the participants make for some excessive, bizarre, vile, and impressive sound orgies. Fortunately, the also have secured themselves the service of a versatile skinsman - so, this crisp and well-produced CD offers all beloved trademarks of the style.
