by Matthias Mader (22.10.2008) Born From Pain really know the art of perseverance - the title of their new CD also implies this. The band exists since 1997 and all recent line-up changes havenβt caused any turmoil. Born From Pain already played a fusion of Metal and Hardcore when the term "Metalcore" still hadnβt come up, leaning more heavily towards Hardcore than bands like Heaven Shall Burn, Maroon, Cataract or Unearth. This hasnβt changed until today - listening to charismatic tracks like the intoxicating opening song "Sound of survival" and surprisingly intricate "The wolves are loose", youβll find more parallels to "metallic" Hardcore bands (Leeway, Killing Time and Pro-Pain) than to Slayer. Many of the eleven tracks develop real clout when in the mid-tempo range (prime example: "Zeitgeist").
