by Jürgen Tschamler (20.09.2007) Damn, it's been ten years already that Hammerfall have been around. It appears to me that their legendary debut-album, "Glory to the brave" has only been released some months ago. Nevertheless, Oscar Dronjak & Co. decided to take this anniversary and release a "Best-of" double-album. Provided with a 28-page booklet and 29 songs on both discs, this is perfect Hammerfall entertainment. Also, the album has three previously unreleased Hammerfall-songs in store: "The abyss", some kind of intro that is used by a Swedish ice-hockey team as their running-in hymn, furthermore the rather typical "Last man standing" and "Restless soul". The latter is a mystic, bombastic track with the well-known trademarks. New recorded was also the classic, "Hammerfall", renamed into "Hammerfall v2.0.07". Furthermore, you get an MPEG-rough mix version of "Hammerfall v2.0.07", and two live songs: "The metal age" and "Stone cold". Both were recorded in 1998 in Gothenburg. You see – and hear – there is a lot to discover on this "Best of"-package which is exquisitely wrapped.
