by Holger (null) After "River runs red" and "Ugly" another superb album by L.O.A is out now. "Soul searching sun" will presumably be the last album to be recorded with singer Keith Caputo. Apart from firing their old Management and exchanging ex-Type O Negative drummer Sal Abruscato with Dan Richardson I have to admit that hardline L.O.A. supporters might have some slight difficulties with the new material on "S.s.s.". "Neg" and "Lead your astray" remind a little of slight grunge influences and Alice In Chains. But the album is full of treats and the kick we all love so much is also audible in songs like "Weeds" and terrific songs like "Gently sentimental", "Angry tree" and "Whispers". "My mind is dangerous" and "Desire" are two beautiful ballads with great melodies. "S.s.s." is less emotional than "Ugly" but a lot more varied and in any case more rocking. A great album!
