The Swiss newcomer quintet, Legenda Aurea offers us beautiful, symphonic Metal. Most striking feature of the band is the enchanting voice of the 19-year-old singer, Claudia Hofer, who in terms of vocal volume bears quite some resemblances to her idol, Tarja Turunen. The band's sound is based on bombastic keyboards and emotional, melancholic melodies. The ten tracks of this debut album are catchy and invite you to relax and dream along. Despite the young age of the Swiss, they set the benchmark remarkably high and cause some a goose-flesh. The opera-like voice of Claudia refines such musical pearls, like the fast title song, "Sedna", the ballad-like "It's over", or the anthemnic "As the leaves fly". A great debut album for Legenda Aurea, who have their sophomore album already in the pipeline. If you love the bombast of Within Temptation, the symphonic side of Nightwish, and like to discover new acts, like Magica and Atargatis, you will love this new name, too!
