    Something Witchy

by Eugen Legat (October 2005) No, he's completely gone mad, the "Schizo deluxe". But better "Maximum Satan" than Christ reborn. If you think that by presenting David Padden on vocals they try to take up the mellower side of the "Set the world on fire"-phase again can immediately be forgotten because after the already quite storming opener, "Drive" kicks you right on: after the conscious "King of the kill" groove they increase the speed more and more seeing Padden fall into the hectic of the typical late '80s Hardcore thrash. "Warbird" deal with hyper fast rockets and yet is a basically slow song with a giant end scream. In "Plasma zombies", Padden touches some Death Metal sectors, "Like father, like gun" experiments with Stoner Rock and Alice Cooper vibes, only "Clare" has an almost commercial touch - if it wouldn't be for the schizophrenic middle part. Without Thrash gene or lust for some citations you'll have your problems with the freakshow - and miss some very exclusive thrash lessons! (Eugen Legat - October 2005)
