12.On my way
by Lothar Landt (03.04.2007) Two years have passed since Xandria released their last album. The band used the time because with "Salomé ...", the quintet makes a huge step forward. Xandria are often softer than e.g. Within Temptation or Lacuna Soil but the song writing is really perfect. That already shows in the opener, "Save my life" of the following "Vampire", which really rock but are very melodic, too. Furthermore, "Vampire" convinces by its Oriental flair. "Beware" starts with a simple and beautiful riff further enchanted by songstress Lisa with her voice. The title track is a bit more opulent, slowly builds up culminating in a gloomy, orchestral sound. A true highlight. "Only for the stars in my eyes" is a considerably simple but nevertheless very effective. "Salomé ..." is the fourth album and surely the best since "Ravenheart". The twelve songs are above the average and convince from the first listening on. Thumbs up!
