by Lisa Hofer (10.07.2008) Equilibrium worked hard on the successor to "Turis fratyr": the music had to show that the musicians have advanced and the music had to add some new influences to their style. To cut it short: "Sagas" delivers – Equilibrium have reached the next level concerning diversity and imagination. On this album, merry melodies intertwine with apocalyptical atmosphere, Latin America meets Scandinavia: dynamic screaming, serene pan pipes, hefty guitar work, intricate keyboard sounds are mixed with a raven’s cry, fanfares and the occasional jaw’s harp. The thirteen songs are always exciting, not a bit boring, powerful "Verrat", hymn-like "Blut im Auge", or the sixteen minutes long instrumental "Mana" leave nothing to be desired. Incredible 80 minutes of music – plus 70 minutes of spectacular video material as bonus: terrific!
