After the ingenious debut, "The strength/The sound/The songs" and the endless praises they now release their sophomore effort, named "Rock the rebel/Metal the devil". For the Danes, Volbeat have long become a future major act, the rest of Europe should follow instantly. I can only advise you to watch them at the 2007-festivals (W:O:A:, With Full Force) or on their European tour, this is an absolute bomb that started to detonate in 2003. And the heavy aftershocks will long go on. The new album features 11 new songs produced by Jacob Hansen (Nightrage, Mercenary) and although the guys stuck to their style, they dare some views back and forth resulting in some fine progression. Songs like "Soulweeper #2", "River queen", "Devil or the blue cat's song" prove: a Metallic Rock'n'Roll experience you never heard before. Rating: full 20 out of 10 possible points!
