In March 2011 Japan was smitten by an enormous earthquake, followed by a monstrous tsunami and a nuclear disaster in the nuclear power reactor Fukushima. In the autumn of the same year Aerosmith brought their "Back On The Road"-tour despite the previous warnings to Japan, a country to which the band always had very special relationshop. The Japanese fans pilgrimaged in flocks to these concerts and Aerosmith rewarded them with some of the best shows of their long career. This film accompanies the band during this tour and connect recordings of complete live songs like "Love in an elevator", "Livin' on the edge", "Last child", "Walk this Way", "Draw the line", "Sweet emotion" and "Hangman jury" with views behind the curtains, which vary from emotional and touching up to humorous and empathetic. More than anything before "Rock for the rising sun" documents the tight relationship between Japanese fans and Aerosmith and their music. With the songs "Lick and a promise" and "One way street" as bonus tracks.
