by Carsten Henkelmann (10.04.2007) After their long coercive break, they are finally back, the OsnabrΓΌck-based Death Metal-legend, Sudden Death. And with "Rethroned", they impressively prove that they haven't forgotten anything. With only one guitarist left in the line up, they still have a lot of power and deliver nine songs influenced by US-Death Metal. They never get lost in dull noise but always move on highest technical level skilfully combining intricate passages with ultra brutal mosh parts. Just listen to, e.g., "Until hell froze" and the distinctive "Broken wings". Live, too, these guys are an absolute power. If you like bands, like Suffocation, Dying Fetus and Malevolent Creation I urge you to check out "Rethroned". Especially because the album was provided with a powerful sound in the Soundlodge Studio (Dew-Scented, God Dethroned).
