10.Requiem
by Thomas Clausen (13.06.2008) On his last album, the ex-Marilyn Manson-/ ex-Rob Halford guitar wielder (who can play an array of instruments) put his focus on the most infamous serial killers - on his fourth output, the versatile axeman wallows in the most gruesome torturing methods of the middle ages. John5 digs Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai as well as Niccolo Paganini or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - listening to the acoustical reverence the telecaster whiz celebrates on "Requiem", that doesn't surprise very much. Other than that, John5 has developped a penchant for pain after his performances with Rob Zombie - the most popular torturing methods even get their own songs: "Heretic`s fork", "Pity belt" or "Judas cradle" are resurrected again - 500 years later (thank god only on a record release of a crazy Cali-boy...). Enjoy the torments!
