by Andreas Reissnauer (27.04.2009) The six from Turkku/Finland have been an underground tip so far - and now, they're ready to take the next step. Consequently, they have hired a separate vocalist, Jani Ala-Hukkala, who wins you over with his clear voice. This transformed the otherwise mostly instrumental music (think Isis here) into a living, organic sound. Rock and Progressive elements, some Metal influences, jazzy parts, and Postrock/-core intertwine smoothly and unpretentious. The sound is warm and earthy, very easy on the ear. With a lot of attention to details, Callisto have created a soundtrack you could recommend to all Isis fans and Neurosis lovers... But even if you're a follower of combos like Mogwai or even Muse, you should really give this one at least one try.
