2nd District play really neat, classy Pop Punk with catchy bubblegum melodies. A couple of re-cycled Sex Pistols riffs are evident, but in general, the band have more parallels with Dickies, Adicts and Cock Sparrer.

by Matthias Mader (29.01.2009) 2nd District are Germans? Hard to believe... Listening to songs as "The hardest part is the living" ,"Sporting socks & sandals", or "You never listened to me", their sound reminds me more of Punk Rock legends from the US or Great Britain... Last but not least because of vocalist Marc de Burgh - his high and nasal voice sounds very much like the Undertones’ (those were the days!) Feargal Sharkey. Well, you won’t find a "My perfect cousin" among these 12 tracks, but catchiness rules, and that’s goes for 2nd District, too. It’s simply really nice Pop Punk with great melodies and a feel-good appeal. You may recognise some recycled Sex Pistols riffs, but otherwise, I’d make out more parallels to the Dickies, Addicts, and Germs. A terrific CD - totally un-trendy. The kick-ass Rock’n’Roll on "Dead end street" (which could have been on the new Cock Sparrer album, too) should be a staple for any wild party!
