by Lisa Hofer (09.07.2007) There were times when the guys of Destruction didn'βt get along very well and even put their band on ice. But a true musician with Metal in his blood can't just put his trade aside. The tattooed frontman Schmier couldn't let go off Thrash music and so he hooked up guitarist Schmuddel and drummer JΓΆrg Michael to play under the name of Headhunter. Although the guys were greatly rocking, the big success remained refused to them. Technically intricated and often highspeed Rock'n'Roll-like, they played fast Thrash Metal without taking themselves too seriously. The three Headhunter records "Parody of life" (1990), "A bizarre gardening accident" (1992) and "Rebirth" (1994) are witness of pure playfulness and a significant manifest of their time. Also if Schmier finally found his way back into the middle of Destruction putting his project into the back, the Headhunter-records still today are sought-after rarities. AFM Records now re-releases a piece of music history and some a collector will finally get a second chance to complete his Thrash collection. If you haven't become acquainted with Headhunter yet, jump the train because for 2008, Schmier, Schmuddel and JΓΆrg decided to give it a go again and release a new album!
