Queens comet-like rise in the 1970s is well-documented. Starting with their impressively ambitious eponymous debut album of 1973 to "A night at the opera 1975", the album that made them super stars for ever, and longer - this band took a very unique path. Between February 1973 and October 1977, Queen recorded six radio sessions exclusively for the BBC. Among the 24 musical milestones generated by these sessions, there were - to name a few - alternative versions of the debut single, unique recordings of legendary album tracks, and even an extremely modified version of one of their most popular smashers that has never before been featured on any other studio release by Queen. This "Queen On air" collection contains all six of Queen's BBC sessions for the first time. Queen's sound engineer Kris Frederiksson has restored the recordings with love and diligence, and Grammy Award winner Adam Ayan has done the mastering. "Queen on air" is much more than a mere collection of rare recordings - it's a fascinating insight into the development and rise of a legend.
