After their great 98-album "Magni blandinn ok megintiri" the expectations were enormously high. Vratyas Vakyas from Iceland lives in Germany and seems to establish himself well with Falkenbach's majestic Viking Metal. Even though the composer takes back a compository gear on "Ok nefna tysvar ty" his return is still a triumph. The Black Metal elements have been reduced and the acoustic components heavily increased at the same time - fortunately enough without loosing general heaviness. The significant, anthemnic catchiness of the song material has remained untouched by these changes. In some parts it has even been increased. Occassional use of keyboards add to the songs effectively and the gracious and despite all heaviness quite hopeful melodies prove the qualities of this talented composer. The result is as imposing as beautiful.
