Article description

The remastered reissue of the masterpiece 'Obzen' comes in a beautifully designed Digipak with a 20-page booklet.

Meshuggah was founded in 1987 in UmeΓ₯, Sweden and has been referred to by the legendary Rolling Stone magazine as 'one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands.' They have earned the respect and admiration of fans and musicians alike.

It is impossible to talk about experimental or avant-garde metal without mentioning this truly groundbreaking act: MESHUGGAH combines ultra-complex rhythmic patterns with massive riffs and aggressive growls, combining death metal, mathcore, thrash, and progressive metal to create their unique style.

2023 now marks the 15th anniversary of the band's milestone album: 'ObZen.' The album is another masterpiece of diversity and surprises as a whole, and features the band's absolute smash hit, 'Bleed' - the song that sent shockwaves through the industry, leaving fans and fellow musicians speechless. One could say that 'ObZen' is a kind of best-of album of the band's early works, combined with fresh and new songs at that time - but that's only half the truth. Compared to some of the dark lava worlds of subconscious horror of earlier releases, 'ObZen' is a big kick in the ass. Some parts are still slo-mo groove infernos, while others, like the opener 'Combustion,' are high-speed massacres like the band has never done before. Pure technical ass-kicking chaos!

Since their debut in 1991, the band has only released classic albums, but it's not wrong to say that 'ObZen' was their most mature achievement until the date of its original release in 2008.
