by Oliver Kube (13.02.2008) If you don't know Killwhitneydead, yet, songs, like the ultra brutal "Time to teach her a lesson called β€šreplaceable" and the almost Doom-like "Maybe death is a gift" should be something new indeed: Deathcore enriched with plenty of movie samples. For those who are familiar with the quintet, this album features few surprises, though. Yet, the guys didn't just rest on their laurels. It's rather that you can say that they have impressively brought their unique sound to perfection. The grooves are edgy as can be, the guitar riffs even more cutting and Rudzinski's grunting vocals more haunting than ever. The dialogue samples from thrillers, like "Saw 2", "Sin City", "Kill Bill" and "The Devil's Rejects" as well as movies, like "Walk The Line" and "Wedding Crashers" perfectly fit both thematically and atmospherically. And in terms of composition and arrangements, the musicians have impressively improved, too. The fifth album of the South-Carolina-troop is by far their most mass-compatible and best to date.
