by Marcel Anders (20.01.2006) Bracelets-alarm in Florida: the oldest in the audience are 17, 18, the youngest are 12, 13, which means the same age in which Simple Plan took their first musical steps as juvenile punk poppers delivering fast, overexcited happy-mood songs for jumping and stage diving. Which hasn't changed after two very successful records: the Canadians still serve a simple and energetic sound that easily lives up to that of their colleagues of Good Charlotte, Blink 182 or Sum 41. They wear cool clothes and trendy hair styles and act in unintentionally funny poses. Like singer Pierre asking for the devil's hands by sweaty kids. That is as dubious as the gigantic advertising banner of a renowned Elektro supplier decorating the complete backline. Which results in the final question if a live album isn't a bit early after only two studio albums, anyway. βMTV Hard Rock Liveβ contains twelve well-known songs with the hits βCrazyβ, βShut upβ and βWelcome to my lifeβ representing the highlights.
