Drummer Uli Kusch (ex Holy Moses, Gamma Ray among others) and guitar player Roland Grapow had been fired by Helloween. They wanted to cooperate with Steel Prophet's vocalist Rick first, but hit upon their perfect match Jorn Lande afterwards and founded Masterplan.
