A truly fantastic Heavy Metal debut by the Swedish whizz kids Steelwing! Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in their veins, they reignite the magic of the 80s. The best Metal debut since Hammer Fall's "Glory to the brave".

Scandianavian Heavy Metal has always been special - and since 2009, the Swedish scene has yet another fantastic newcomer to boast: Steelwing. Just one year after they have started, the youngsters release their great debut "Lord of the wasteland", filled with nothing but gems! On the plate: double leads Γ la Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy, vocals Γ la Rob Halford in his heyday. Similar to their compatriots Enforcer, Ram, or In Solitude, Steelwing represent a new generation of melodic Heavy Metal acts with a totally unique sound. The nine tracks are brimming with energy and versatility, with every single song telling his own story. The intro "Enter the wasteland" sends shivers down your spine, followed by Metal highlights such as "Headhunter", "The illusion", or the epic "Under the scavenger sun". Steelwing succeed in conjuring up that magic spell the debut albums by Blind Guardian or Helloween had about them in the Eighties.
