by Markus Eck (01.02.2008) Who doesn't know him, this exceptional, German guitar player? In his potent band, Axel furthermore features such prominent names, like the super drummer, Mike Terrana and the masterly singer, Johnny Gioeli. On "Live over Europe", the band now releases a huge double DVD. The first disc features the complete show recorded on the 2007 RockHard-Festival seeing the band as playful as usual. If you couldn't be there, this DVD reveals excellent acoustic and visual insights into this triumphant, 75-minute Axel Rudi Pell-celebration. Performed are such relevant songs, as e.g. "Tear down the walls", "Mystica", "Rock the nation" and "Fool fool". The additional bonus DVD features chosen live recordings between 2004 and 2006 from Pell's private vaults: recorded on the Wacken Open Air and Bang Your Head 2005, on the 2004-Sweden Rock Festival as well as Pell-solo shows in England, Belgium and in Switzerland. Even recordings from Axel's native club, the Bochumer Zeche can be seen.
