by Holger (null) To be honest, I didn't really ever care for the music of Rancid, "Life wont wait" will definitely change this. Since I heard that Dickey Barrett from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Agnostic Front's Roger Miret are involved with the album, I couldn't let go of the CD. The thing is full of ska influenced punk-rock killers and at the same time is Rancid's most mature and varied piece of work. The titletrack is a cool reggae-groove, created together with Buju Banton, and "Bloodcold" sounds like they hired Steven Taylor from Aerosmith and put him behind the mic. The album was recorded and mixed at own Bloodclot Studios, also in New Orleans, New York and on Jamaika. What we get is a happy energy party-album of a band that turned down some offers of famous major labels. Punkrock pure!
