    Lichtgestalt

by Sonja Angerer (17.10.2007) The double live-album, the first of the Swiss Gothic/Bombast-Rockers in nine years, is the soundtrack for the double-DVD released at the same time documenting the "Lichtgestalten"-world tour between 2005 and 2007. While one whole cd features a concert recording that didn't found its way onto the DVD, the other disc contains a cross section of the works of Lacrimosa, from current tracks, such as "Lichtgestalt", "Letzte Ausfahrt Leben" and "The party is over" through to classics, like "Schakal", "Stolzes Herz", and of course, "Alles LΓΌge". Still, this CD is much more than a usual best-of because sometimes the songs differ clearly from the studio versions: In "The party is over", e.g., Tilo himself plays the trumpet, "Durch Nacht und Flut" has Spanish-lines included and also the sound is much more transparent and more reduced than usual. You can hear the extremely expensive production of the album: there is hardly a way to transport the live atmosphere so intimate and yet, so perfectly sounding onto an album. Recommendable not only to fans.
