by Markus Eck (02/03) The fifth studio album puts clear the convincing heaviness of this established Dutch death metal troop, for not only do they knowow to kill but also they prove their pleasant musical feeling. Formed in 1991 by band boss Henri Sattler for an immensely heavy state of being, the heavy troop developed on records like "The christhunt", "The grand grimoire", "Bloody blasphemy" and especially their last album, "Ravenous" their very individual and predominantly brutal but always very charming death metal-style over the years. Also "Into the lungs of hell" offers the usual biting heaviness of this absolutely uncompromising band. Yet, the new song shells appear much more matured on this powerful, energetic disc. Matured and especially with much more structured compositions. With remarkably precise destructive rhythms "Into the lungs of hell" gets the best of the genre, in the high speed passages, God Dethroned let all their abilities culminate. It seems that in hell there can be a collective sigh of relief.
